Overwhelmed?

I've been wanting to read Francis Chan's Crazy Love for a while, and recently noticed it in the chapel library. At the bottom right of the cover is the legend 'Overwhelmed by a relentless God'.

Words have different meanings to different people across the world, but for both Chris & mean that sounded like getting steamrollered by someone so intense that there is no rest or peace. I'm sure that's not what he meant, but curious none the less.

Let me know how it is. I haven't been impressed by his public/video speaking (too much of what looks like forced earnestness), which has put me off reading his books. But I'm curious.

Why post emergent?

Why not?

Some years ago I wrote about things relating to church I thought were important then and probably still do to an extent. So many of us want to make sure stuff is right, trying to differentiate ourselves, yet also often miss the more important stuff, the bigger picture.

I watch various people doing church in different ways and wonder how much God is concerned about our 'important' bits of theology or stances we take. The church stream I was once so pleased to be part of is starting to look like every other church to me, so maybe it's time I had a little humility instead of pride at being different.
